The practice was formed in response to a recurring gap. In high-stakes environments, problems often span multiple domains, involve competing interests, and unfold under time and reputational constraint.
In these moments, standard advisory models can struggle to provide the kind of integrated judgment decision-makers need.
VanWyn works in that gap. The focus is not on volume, visibility, or predefined offerings, but on helping leaders navigate consequential situations with steadiness and care.

VanWyn is led by Erinn van Wynsberghe, who serves as Principal and is directly accountable for the work.
Erinn personally leads engagements from initial assessment through resolution or stabilization. Responsibility for judgment, integration, and follow-through is not delegated away. This structure reflects the nature of the work and the environments in which VanWyn operates, where clarity of accountability is essential.
Clients engage VanWyn with the understanding that they are engaging Erinn’s judgment and involvement, not a rotating team or an abstract process.
Erinn’s background spans environments where decisions carry institutional, political, technical, and financial consequence.
His work has involved navigating complex interfaces between public institutions, private organizations, technical systems, policy frameworks, and capital-intensive initiatives. These contexts often include incomplete information, constrained options, and heightened sensitivity to signaling, timing, and governance.
Rather than emphasizing breadth of activity, VanWyn focuses on depth of exposure to situations where judgment under pressure determines outcomes.
VanWyn remains small by design.
When situations require additional expertise or capacity, the practice draws on a network of
trusted collaborators with relevant domain experience. These collaborators are engaged selectively and purposefully, with integration and accountability remaining centralized.
This approach allows VanWyn to scale involvement without diluting judgment, introducing unnecessary complexity, or creating ambiguity around responsibility.
Not every situation is a fit for VanWyn.
Engagements are chosen based on stakes, context, and the likelihood that thoughtful involvement will add stability and clarity. VanWyn does not pursue open-ended advisory work, low-consequence efforts, or engagements where authority, intent, or accountability are unclear.
This selectivity protects clients, the work, and the integrity of the practice.
Much of VanWyn’s work occurs in environments where discretion is necessary and visibility is limited.
Public descriptions are therefore intentionally restrained. In many cases, success is defined by stability achieved, risk avoided, or problems contained rather than by visible outcomes or announcements.
